A Legacy of Service: Honoring the Past, Protecting the Future
When people ask me why I’m running for Sheriff, I often think back to my dinner table growing up. I am the proud son of Roy Carter, a man who many of you remember as our County Clerk for 30 years.
Watching my father serve Union County for three decades taught me everything I know about public office. He didn’t just hold a title; he held a responsibility to every citizen who walked through his door. He treated everyone with respect, whether they were a lifelong friend or a stranger.
Being born and raised right here in Union County gave me a front-row seat to what true community service looks like. I saw how leadership is built on trust and consistency. My father’s legacy is one of dedication to the people, and as your candidate for Sheriff, I am committed to carrying that same spirit of service forward.
I didn’t just grow up here; I was shaped by this community. I want to ensure that the Union County our children inherit is as safe and strong as the one I was raised in. It’s time for a Sheriff who understands where we’ve been and has a clear plan for where we’re going.
Let’s get to work.
My Approach
I believe that the role of Sheriff is more than just being the chief law enforcement officer, it is being a guardian of our community’s trust. My approach is built on three unbreakable pillars: Proactive Protection, Unwavering Transparency, and Community Partnership.
